Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. The couple relocated to Oxfordshire at the age of five where she attended the Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to be a professional actress when she was just at the age of six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute which offers classes for part-time students. The actress had performed in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays before she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been chosen for these parts. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It was the year's top grossing film, breaking records on opening day and first weekend. The film was praised by critics and the performance of three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British paper, praised her for her performance. Emma was awarded five nominations for her exceptional performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of a Film.
